Walk in the footsteps of the first
Mystery Plays in the 1300s...

Chester, under an hour from Manchester and less than 200 miles from London, is one of Britain's most historic and visually appealing cities with its profusion of black and white timbered buildings, winding streets and alleys.

From its ancient boundary walls to its pretty river, this compact former market town of Cheshire is bursting with scenes of times gone by. While 2000-year-old Roman artefacts nudge medieval galleried Rows, Georgian terraces vie with Victoriana and so much more.

The most complete walled city in the UK, it makes a perfect base for touring the North West of England or North Wales, and is an ideal break en route to Scotland or Ireland. For more info and accommodation details, visit www.visitchester.com   Getting here:-
